About Us
Ocean Brands is a privately owned Canadian company incorporated in 1962. The company built its business internationally before developing its domestic brand “OCEAN’S” in 1975. Our first processing plants were in the Vancouver harbour but are now situated in Richmond and Prince Rupert.
The Richmond facility is home to our salmon cannery, herring processing and groundfish operation. Prince Rupert concentrates on freezing and fish transfer for Richmond. Both facilities have received high ratings by the Canadian government and EFSIS.
Ocean Brands is renowned for its high quality seafood products.
From fishing fleet to processing plants and on through labeling and distribution, we control all of our operations. This ensures that our products are produced under the strictest quality assurance programs in the industry. Our products are available throughout Canada and in other countries such as Japan, England, Australia, New Zealand, The Netherlands, Denmark, Germany, France, Belgium, Italy, Taiwan, Mexico and Korea to name a few.
Our import products have to meet the same rigid quality control standards that are applied to our own production. We have developed special ties with the best processors in the Pacific Rim and Alaska. Our Quality Assurance staff travel regularly to our approved processors' facilities for on site inspections and, upon arrival in Canada, all imports are inspected in our laboratory. We strongly believe that it is our commitment to quality that has made Ocean's a leading supplier of great fish and seafood worldwide.
